Well told story chronicling the plight of Rubin Carter, superbly played by Denzel Washington.
Enjoyable difference to this movie, is the impact of the black teenager on Carter's journey to freedom.
Well edited picture reveals different elements of Carter's story to its audience, scretching from the 50's to the 80's.
Acting honours are the film's strongest suit, with Washington proving to be one of the finest powerhouse actors of his generation. More subtle than his Oscar-winning Training Day, he demands your attention when on screen.
Very competetive Oscar year, with R.Crowe in The Insider, and winner K.Spacey for American Beauty providing stiff competition.
