Review of The Hurricane (1999) by Johnny N — 22 Jul 2013
This is a story of redemption. I've always loved this movie ever since it came out when I was in grade 8. in my mind I think Denzel should of got the academy award for his work. his most powerful performance.
I also feel its Clancy browns strongest performance as well. a real tear jerker at times, love the humanity, spirit and light the young boy brings to Rubin with his letters. this movie also has one of the best supporting casts including both high name American and Canadian talent.
Great soundtrack and score. the script makes you feel like everyone is out to get the hurricane, you really feel for him. all in all my favorite prison/wrongfully accused stories especially because its a true story.
