Review of The Hunt (2013) by Jacob P — 29 Nov 2013

This film is harrowing piece of cinema that redefines what horror means to the modern viewer. I was uncomfortable and often sick but not due to violence or scares but due to the pure human cruelty of the characters.

This is a drama at heart and a damn effective one at that. I want to leave the plot up to secrecy as it's worth watching purely without any bias. It's basically the "wrong man" plot type but goes further into what it really means.

The twist that occurs because of a simple lie is one of the most scariest things I've witnessed. It feels so real and concise, I feel like this happens all the time. It's a fantastic character study and deserves all the praise.

I recommend this film if you want to see a tightly knit drama that unravels in a sinisterly fashion. 5/5 stars.
