Review of The Hunt (2013) by Sue P — 25 Aug 2018
Good idea for a film but lost its credibility in its complete lack of legal and ethical process. For example,.
a child reporting such an experience is interviewed by an expert with the parent present. Not by some cackhanded idiot who puts words into a child's mouth.
At no point did the accused, hapless chap seek legal advice.
At no point was the head of the nursery investigated for her inflammatory reaction as opposed to a calm, legal response to a difficult situation.
At no point were the police involved in the continued abuse and harassment of a public citizen.
At no point was the child seen by a child psychologist to ascertain what actually happened. Instead, she was bombarded with statements from adults she trusted, and opened up to, to reinforce their own fantasy.
Again, excellent idea but very very poorly and unconvincingly executed. Shame. Could have been really good.
