Review of The Hunt (2013) by Andy S — 26 Jan 2018
Already I can tell it's a charming movie, at least with the kids around and the good times. Klara is such a cutie. She's a fucking kid! Your going to believe a child?! This is what happens when people don't take a step back and think, hmm, was he showing any sign of harassment towards the kids?
A really good example of how something that is a complete lie, can be blown out of proportion. Complete badass when he went back inside the store all bloodied up. That scene in the church! So good, the build up and everything. Fantastic acting.
It's a pretty haunting thought, if I was in Lucas' shoes. To be accused of something you didn't even do and then have the whole town hate you for something you didn't even do. It's bullshit. All because of that stupid little slut. The ending, even though not a happy one at all, was perfect. It served as a reminder for him, that some folks in the town haven't forgotten what he supposedly did. I like to think that it was either Klara's big brother or some other town folk. They shot it brilliantly so you couldn't really make out who it was. The point isn't really who it might have been. The point is that, even though time has gone by, and much of the people have gotten past it or forgotten it, there's still someone that holds it against him.
In reality though, I don't this kind of crap would go down in a bigger city or even in other countries. It almost seems like they didn't even do an analysis of the girl who seemed like she might have some sort of psychological issues. Not being able to walk on lines, that nervous nose tick she has, and then everyone saying that she has a vivid imagination. And yet still no study was done on the girl. And then Lucas almost seemed like he wasn't even trying to get across to people that he couldn't even commit such an act on a girl. He sort of just stayed quiet and let things happen. Fuck that, I'd be all over that situation.
Overall, really really good movie. It gets you thinking. It had me wondering if it's actually happened to anyone. Mads did a wonderful job, he seems like a great dude. All I know is, you can't believe everything these damn kids say.
