Review of The Hudsucker Proxy (1994) by Anthony D — 19 Mar 2008
The first 20 minutes is so stylish, hilarious, eye-popping, extravagant and extremely well directed. Then the film seems to lose something after that. There are still some great performances (though Jennifer gets a little annoying after a while) and lots of fine cameos and a great musical score.
Then the film seems to find itself during the last 10 minutes or so, which I also loved, but not as much as the first 20 minutes. But in the end, what's really the message?
