Review of The Holy Mountain (1973) by Geahk B — 22 Sep 2017
Visually striking, surreal, often beautiful layered with metaphor with cartoonish sexuality and violence. A meditation of capitalism and religion with criticisms for all. While some sections are limited by poor camera work or ham-handed allegory, the film is endlessly fascinating and absorbing.
Fun to contemplate and almost plays as a comedy skin-flic deeply rooted in 70's exploitation.
