Review of The Hitcher (1986) by Helen E — 09 Jan 2009
I'd seen the remake of this film a little while ago and although I couldn't remember much of it I really did enjoy it. The original however is better. It seems to have more suspense and although it doesn't have half as much gore, it didn't really need it to be effective.
This film is a great piece of cinema, especially coming from the 80's and ultimately being a thriller/horror film. It's a wicked storyline, very psychological. The stunts were pretty cool and Hauer was outstanding as the menacing John Ryder.
Definitely worth a watch =).
