Horror movies tend to become outdated faster then other genres and as a result a lot of the greats from the 70s/80s no longer have the same effect they once had. There are exceptions of course, Halloween comes to mind.
The Hills Have Eyes is one such an example of a film that ends up coming across a little campy at points due to the fact that it was made so long ago. I have to say I liked the remake better but I still give credit to Craven's original.
