As the decades flew by, Wise's horror cult classic became a supernatural legend. Horror standards of the time may not permit nowaday audiences to share the invigorating, atmospheric, "film-noirish" terror of The Haunting, but a masterpiece remains a masterpiece, all for the right, spooky and macabre reasons, especially with a ridiculous remake floating around.
