For the love of all that is good in this world, PLEASE don't go out and watch the '99 remake. THIS is the real thing, dears, and it's supernatural horror at its very best. Richly atmopheric and psychologically disturbing, The Haunting is absolutely one of the best horror films ever made.
Its subtlety and powers of suggestion are far more chilling and unnerving than any orgiastic bacchanalia of special effects could ever be.
