Review of The Haunting (1963) by Phyllis L — 06 Oct 2013
A truly timeless psychological haunted house film. The acting is impressive, the ensemble perfect, Shirley Jackson was a writer of flawless talent - one of my favorites. This adaptation of her story is well done.
The tension in the scenes of the house "acting up" are truly wonderful and still creepy after all these years. So much more deeply disturbing on an intellectual level than all the special effects driven movies of today.
