Review of The Green Mile (1999) by Brijesh P — 12 Dec 2014
While critics were criticizing the film to be 3 hours long, I say 3 hours is enough to tell this particular story that give us time to connect, feel, and experience/witness what power the film contained to channel our emotions while watching and getting to know the good-natured, meaningful characters with heart, especially the characters portrayed by Hanks, Duncan, Cromwell and Jeter. The "Shawshank Redemption" director took a more emotional approach in a prison film with the "Forrest Gump" actor telling the story that wows us. (A-).

Now back to the part about the 3-hour long story being a small focus of criticism. It doesn't matter how long a story is. What matters is what the story is and how you gotten yourself to hear it so the story can be told and fulfills its purpose of existence. There's no rush of telling a long story, unless it started to get a slow pace and brought its listeners out to boredom and losing interest. If that ever happens, it means the story wants to stop. Some stories may not be serious ones, but they can be enough to be enjoyable for the taste. So there's no reason for criticizing a length of a story unless the story isn't a worthy one because of its length and little offerings to the taste and interest.
If there were any stories that were long and were criticized for that and the story was enjoyable, I say those stories should be reevaluated. If that criticism was backed-up with points on why the story's not enjoyable enough to justify its length, then that thought can stay the same. If any critics of any kind in areas that circulates on this, keep these words in mind if you like and see if these words change anything to your opinions on some stories. These words are just my opinion in a form of a theory as we all have different thoughts/opinions and theories.
