Review of The Green Mile (1999) by Bailea S — 03 Dec 2018
The Green Mile is a fearless heartfelt three plus hour movie of the problems inmates go through. About how most of the inmates live life on the inside and the truth behind the jail cells but not all get along, obey and bond with the guards.
The Green Mile shows how an innocent man can easily be put in jail for a crime that he didn't have any part of. The tone of the movie I think would be serious but also emotional at times. A quote in the movie that I particularly like is made by Paul Edgecomb it says "Time takes it all, whether you want it to or not.
Time takes it all, bears it away, and in the end there is darkness. Sometimes we find others in that darkness, and sometimes we lose them there again." This to me shows how in time we can find ourselves or we can lose ourselves in our own minds.
The most serious part of the movie to me is when the guard Percy Wetmore gets to finally perform one of the executions in the electric chair. This was the most dramatic execution that happened. After the execution guard Percy was forced by guard Paul to resign from his job and leave prison.
