Review of The Great Silence (1968) by Hollie H — 20 Apr 2009
Contains photography so beautiful that it cries for a bigscreen, and not only the outside shots of frozen plains and mountains. After watching it with only a memory of the plotline from a mind exploding viewing as a child made clear why it is one of the few true classics of the Italowestern genre.
Beautifully subdued are the score by Morricone and Klaus Kinski as the ultimate A-hole.
