Review of The Great Silence (1968) by Chris P — 26 Mar 2013
Along with A Bullet For The General this is the best non-Sergio Leone Eurowestern. Incredible score by Morricone, performances, and visual in what is a pulp-cinema masterpiece. Of course, like all of Corbucci's movies, it is ultimately a gag being played on the audience.
However, this is his most sustained and intelligent film.
