Review of The Ghost and Mrs. Muir (1947) by Bob V — 16 Jan 2011
A classic and comedic 'benevolent ghost'- story, that takes most of its humour out of contrasting Harrison's gruff sailor with Tierney's not-quite-at-ease-with-own-prim-demeanour widowed mother.
Unusual, especially in its own day, and still possessed of a definitive charm and naturalness (though odd it may be to describe a story with a sea captain's ghost dictating his own memoirs as natural), it's not quite my cup of tea, but an enjoyable watch for all ages nonetheless.
