Review of The Fountain (2006) by Kurt M — 19 Dec 2012
A bewildering and often confusing film about an immortal conquistador searching for a cure for cancer to save the reincarnation of his beloved queen. Although Ellen Burstyn, Rachel Weisz, and Hugh Jackman give excellent performances in the film, the constant repetition of key sequences, poor editing, and inferior direction in which the director is too much in love with his own visuals turn what could have been an excellent film into a mediocre one.
A major disappointment.
