Review of The Fog of War (2003) by Garrett O — 24 Oct 2009
Incredible insight into the life of Robert Strange McNamara. The quintessential Western mind trying to tackle a situation where the flow charts don't fit: the map isn't the territory. McNamara is astonishing in his candor, admitting that the fire-bombing of Tokyo was a "war crime".
His brilliance is undiminished but it's his humanity that makes this a compelling film.
