William peter blatty returns to writting the exorcist franchise once again 15 years after the first exorcitst father karras was dead for 15 years then a killer named supposedly the gemni killer a killer that was sent to the electric chair but gets into karras's body and unknown murders occur it has a SE7EN with a mixture of Halloween III:season of the witch but the exorcist III has a lot of refrences with the first exorcist just like Psycho II and psycho III have flashbacks of the marion crane death scene aka (shower death scene) but while only one person can stop these killings a man named LT. kinderman which no one knows how at first on the film but the weirdest thing with this film is this during credits they credit the karras character as patient X very strange the exorcist III is a great horror film sequel and a great horror film hiddeng Highly recommended for any horror fan terrific screenplay by william peter blatty highly recommended.

When the film had opened on august 17th 1990 the film opened at #1 while during the sucess of films such as ghost and pretty woman this film (the exorcist III) opened at #1 opening weekend that is a good thing and since this is a great horror film hidden gem highly recommended.
