Review of The Exorcist III (1990) by Keenan S — 12 Aug 2011
This is a highly underrated sequel that deserved much better response than it received. This film feels like what would have happened if the first two films collided head-on with each other and the resulting mash-up was directed by a madman.
It has the terror of the original, yet it has its own sense of humor. It also has imagery which would be right up there with all the incredibly strange moments in the second film, yet it doesn't stray into unintentional comedy.
This film is a perfect balance of the elements of the first two films, yet it has its own identity to not only stand as a worthy sequel, but also as a phenomenal standalone horror film.
