Review of The Ex (1996) by Patrick C — 04 Mar 2008
Wow, for such an awesome supporting cast (for some reason I love/hate Amanda Peet and have no real opinion of Zach Braff...Jason Bateman rules though...), I really didn't like this movie. Part of it's just that it's not my type of comedy.
..It's in that mindset along the lines of American Pie in thinking that extremes of embarrassment equals funny. So, that's about four fifths of the movie right there while the other bit is about baby crap that I could care about less.
The story's basically about a couple who've obviously gotten married too soon and have definitely decided to have a baby too soon. How can you make a decision like that so flippantly? Anyways, not for me, couldn't even watch the whole thing (which is something I haven't done since Christmas With the Cranks).
..I recommend watching the scene where the kid eats the whole hamburger w/o chewing...that was amazing! Then shut the damn thing off. Someone else might like this, but it's not my cup of tea.
