Review of The Enforcer (1976) by Carlos I — 07 Jun 2014
Harry Callihan is back in his third outing, this time as the original mismatched buddy cop film. Clint is paired with a female partner, Tyne Daly, and the let the chauvinism begin! It's the original cop buddy story, so it now seems quite cliched, but Clint and Daly are so good that you can't help but get into it.
It also helps that series regulars Harry Guardino, John Mitchum and Albert Popwell all appear again. Written by Dean Riesner and Stirling Silliphant, this film isn't as good as the original or "Magnum Force" (which I realize most people don't like as much), but watching Cling and Tyne take on a group of hippie extremists is pretty entertaining.
