Review of The Element of Crime (1984) by Juan V — 04 Apr 2006
Easily the greatest detective story i've ever seen. surreal photography and hypnosis indused narrative guide you through a near apocaliptic setting, and while the plot itself becomes predictable, the movie never lost the most important part of any mystery: the intrigue.
signature lars von trier pretentions abound, but never annoy.
