Review of The Do-Over (2016) by Jacob B — 28 Jul 2016
I thought this film was pretty underrated. Damn critics all say that if there's the name Adam Sandler on it, that makes the movie bad. Well, guess what? STOP JUDGING A BOOK BY ITS COVER (or in this case, a movie by its celebrities starring in that film)!!! While the film was a bit uneven, I thought it compensated for any flaws it had with some decent action, great perfromances from Sandler, David Spade and Paula Patton and tons of humour.
Regardless of what anyone says, this can still be seen by many as a slight improvement over The Ridiculous 6. And anyway, the third film in the Sandler-Netflix quadrology is a drama directed by Noah Baumbach, one of the finest movie directors of our time.
So, come on, give Sandler a chance.
