Review of The Deer Hunter (1978) by Bernard S — 01 Nov 2010
The Deer Hunter is superb movie. Yes it is rather slow at times but it is very powerful and a very rewarding movie, The russian roulette scenes are two of my favourites, De Niro and Walken give great performances, This is also the last picture to feature the legend that is John Cazale R.
I.P who was dying of bone cancer while this was being filmed, The Deer Hunter shows the relationships between friends from the same town, We get to see them in their everyday normal living life work, drinking and having banter with each other, A Wedding then it's Vitetnam which has a different outcome on Nick, Mike and Steve Lives which changes each ones life forever but in a different way.
