Review of The Deaths of Ian Stone (2008) by Vuk S — 11 Oct 2013
Like most After Dark Horrorfest flicks, at first this one had a promising concept, but by the end it just turned to crap.
It deals with a man who, for some reason, gets hunted and killed by monsters every day, only to wake up in a different "life" to be killed again. I must say, this was a really good idea for a film, it reminded me of The Butterfly Effect. However, by the end the movie transforms into some kind of action flick/love story, and we witness many absurdities, even some cheesy fighting sequences which made me feel as though I was watching a Power Rangers movie.
After the ending I was just left wondering why the producers let such a good concept go to waste. Technically, the movie was good, until maybe the last 20 minutes or so, which were a ridiculous fuck-up. Watch it if you like the concept, enjoy it for as long as you can, but DON'T expect any good twists.
