Review of The Death of Mr. Lazarescu (2005) by Adam W — 06 Aug 2008
Successful as what it is, a minamalist and 'realistic' film, but was too dour and slow paced for its own good, in my opinion. Also, with the character of Lazarescu, it failed in making me care for his fate, I didn't necessarily want to like him but I just felt indifferent, and for a film as challanging to watch as this, that wasn't really goo enough.
Technically though, the film was brilliant, with some fearless performances and wonderful one take footage.
