The Dark Knight Rises boasts great performances, a memorable villain, impresssive filmaking and an ambitious scope, but it can't quite reach the high bar set by The Dark Knight and Batman Begins before it.
Still an entertaining movie in its own right, the final act of the film is riddled with plot holes and has a less than satisfying climax.
