Review of The Dark Knight Rises (2012) by Hyozanryu — 28 Mar 2021
A spectacle. The Dark Knight Rises Complimentarily is one of Nolan's lesser films. However, his Batman trilogy's most notable strength is the ensemble. New faces such as Blake and Selena truly carry the movie just as well as Bruce.
A minor weak point of it all is Bane, who is diminished only because he talks far too often and basically telegraphs his master plan half-way in, taking away the menace of his villainy. That said, I walked away feeling satisfied for quite a formulaic film to end with a mirage of Nolanism flare that had been missing throughout.
It was one final punch before the credits rolled that raised it to become the classic we deserve.
