Review of The Dark Knight Rises (2012) by Jay L — 04 Sep 2014
"THE LEGEND ENDS..".
It all comes to a vastly epic and unbelieveably spectacular ending, The Dark Knight Rises is an endlessly and intensely smart, diabolical and cerebral endeaver. Director Christopher Nolan (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Inception, Memento, The Prestige) has done it again, albeit with pinpoint precision. We all know that Christopher Nolan is extremely skilled and one of The elite filmmakers of our time, so the bar was set astronomically high for this one and let me tell you..he once again nailed it. This film is brutal, ruthless and extraordinarily violent and disturbing, but its all done so beautifully, with cutting edge storytelling and clever, intricate plotlines. Trust me this entire trilogy is intensely entertaining and exhilarating, brooding, dark, chilling and atmospheric and The Dark Knight Rises lives up to the hype and arguably delivers what the fans wanted to see. This is the way that we all deserve to see Batman and Gotham City, the playful films of earlier years are behind us, and I guarantee that Nolan's Batman trilogy will never, EVER be topped. This film rises to the top, and Nolan and company have executed another masterpiece. Its absolutely loaded with jaw-droppingly gorgeous cinematography, breathtakingly eye-popping special effects, dazzlingly dizzying action sequences and a intricately twisted maze of a story that unfolds with legendary precision. An absolutely powerfully hynotic cinematic gem that jumps off the screen and into your imagination, I can only hope that there is more to this legend, we are all craving more from u Mr. Nolan.
Christian Bale is back as Bruce Wayne/The Batman and what's more to say, the Guy is a perfect fit as The Dark Knight. Tom Hardy gives a grotesquely psychotic villainous performance as Bane, I mean this Guy is stunningly ruthless throughout, Bane will never eclipse The Joker as a villain, but Tom Hardy really breathes life into this villain much like Heath Ledger did for The Joker in The Dark Knight. Anne Hathaway's manipulative performance as Catwoman is a Showstopper, she was spectacular to watch. Joseph Gordon Levitt gives a deceptively masterful performance throughout and you get the feeling that there is more to this Guy as the film continues. Gary Goldman is back with another excellent turn as Commissioner Gordon. Marion Cottillard is a sheisty one throughout. Michael Caine...a legendary actor. Morgan Freeman..elite and masterful in anything that he does. A star studded cast for a masterful film..just keep em coming Mr. Nolan! Please.
