Review of The Dark Knight Rises (2012) by Ffhbvgnnnnb — 12 Apr 2022
I think that past precedent has often told that the third film in a series or a trilogy is the hardest to make. Many trilogies have seen great starts, reached heights with a phenomenal sequel, perhaps the Spider-Man trilogy (2002-2007) is very indicative of this formula.
The Dark Knight Rises breaks this pattern, offering a conclusion worthy of the brilliance of the previous two iterations. With stunning IMAX cinematography, an almost apocalyptic plot, and a menacing villain in the form of Tom Hardy's Bane, The Dark Knight Rises is a masterclass and rare example of filmmakers successfully concluding a trilogy or franchise.
