Review of The Crazies (1973) by Carl N — 04 Jun 2009
As a fan of the great George A. I'm embarrassed it has taken me this long to see this. But now I have and I was not disappointed. Though its clear that he had a virtually missing budget (even for him) the customary Romero traits are clear to see.
From great characterization to the scornful social commentary. All played out with over the top violence. Also after viewing this its clear to me that so many films have copied this same plot. But this still in my mind stands tall above them as I actually cared what happened to the characters.
Its not as good as the dead films, nor is it a Martin. But its still an decent offering. Look out for Romero regulars Richard France and Richard Liberty.
