Review of The Counterfeiters (2007) by Mike H — 11 Apr 2009
A brilliant film about a group of Jews who survived the Holocaust by executing the largest counterfeiting operation in history. The movie explores a compelling struggle in the trade off between the groups personal survival and assisting to finance the Nazi war efforts.
Karl Markovics is great in the lead role and the movie is well written if you care for sub-titled movies. Personally, I prefer the more authentistic feel of a sub-titled movie versus having a movie like Valkyrie done in English.
..though I admit I have not seen Valkyrie.
