Review of The Conformist (1971) by Diwas K — 28 Apr 2008
An incredible and ultimately stunning exploration of a man's conflicting moral and political views. The cinematography is at times breathtaking, this is such a beautifully shot film. Bertolucci successfully engages with the absurd, the political and human nature throughout, with moments of comedy, seduction and some powerful tension.
