Review of The Chronicles of Riddick (2004) by Stefan G — 13 May 2013
This is just one of those movies from the early 2000's that are characterized by mediocre production values, and loads and loads special effects. Though Riddick himself is pretty cool, it's in the stereotypically gritty sort of way.
The admittedly eye-catching special effects and action scenes seem to be the major mask for thinly crafted characters and story, which is a shame because I think this movie could have done so much better to become more than a typical Hollywood CGI flick.
