Review of The Business of Being Born (2008) by Lindsay S — 09 Jul 2009
A must see for anyone planning on having a baby. This movie uncovers some hidden truths about hospital births. It's so disturbing how ignorant and misinformed people are about the most simple things in life.
I loved the part of the movie that said something about how families spend more time researching a car, camera, stereo, etc then they do the birth of their child. People have a fear about at home deliveries but when you look at the statistics you find a completely different story.
And I TOTALLY agree with the argument that the reason we have an increasing number of children born with learning disabilities, autism, etc is because of all the intervention drugs that are given to delivering women.
The long term studies aren't there and it's crazy. Do your homework and be smart!
