Review of The Bride with White Hair (1993) by Lorelei A — 24 Jan 2010
Those who are familiar with actress Lin Ching Hsia or Brigitte Lin as she is known here in the West, will have seen this movie. Lin delivers a stellar performance as is synonymous with almost any film she is in.
The theme song written and composed by co-star Leslie Cheung fits this movie perfectly. But my favorite aspect of this film would have to the antagonist. Of all the villains throughout cinematic history I don't think I have ever seen one so original, twisted, or down right messed up as the one in this film.
From the Wicked Witch of the West to Darth Vader and Creature Gollum, Ji Wushuang takes the cake. Being a psychologically tortured, incestuous, Siamese twin; this antagonist truly pushes the boundaries.
