The Bride With White Hair is one of the best wuxia films but it's so much more than that. Ronny Yu created a perfect film here. The way the drama develops, the characters, the cinematography, everything works to create a film that is stunningly beautiful and delivers a Shakespearean tragedy with blockbuster aplomb.
Finally, Leslie Cheung and Brigitte Lin are perfectly cast. From the very first scene of the film the audience is taken in a flashback of fantasy, wonder, drama, war, love...
