Review of The Bride with White Hair (1993) by Mattias E — 29 Jul 2008
Intensely beautiful picture from Ronnie Yu, subsequently lost in Hollywood anonymity along with Tsui Hark and John Woo. Mercifully void of the corny bits so common in Harks movies, The Bride With White Hair displays an emotional depth which singles it out from other swordplay epics of the time, to great extent due to the excellent performance of the late great Leslie Chung.
And what an oddball that Francis Ng is. Here, he totally steals the show as the unrestrainably camp evil cult leader/siamese twin.
