Review of The Blues Brothers (1980) by Gordon T — 30 Nov 2011
FREAKING AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A CINEMATIC, MUSICAL-MASTERPIECE from John Landis (who would soon go on to be involved in the decapitation/drowning of two children and a well-known actor).
"WE'RE ON A MISSION FROM GOD" . . . .
The best BLUES MOVIE EVER!!!!!!!!
WHY BELUSHI?????? (there should have been 10 blues brothers mis-adventures).
I just saw THE THING WITH TWO HEADS (made only 8 years before this:).
the POLICE CARS smashing-up are exactly like the POLICE CARS SMASHING-UP in THE THING WITH TWO HEADS--no discredit to John Landis by any means:
Seeing POLICE CARS SMASHING-UP AND CRASHING INTO EACH OTHER always gives me the ultimate.
"STICK IT TO THE MAN!" feeling.
Releasing and cathartic.
100%.
