Review of The Blues Brothers (1980) by Brittany%20 P — 15 Mar 2018
For me watching the film, there wasn't that wave of nostalgia, that often envelopes in many reviewers criticism or critiques. I surprisingly came into this movie with an open mind. However was left disappointed, surmounted with an excessive number of expectations.
The Blues Brothers is a decent film, however the premise goes on far too long. If the movie was an hour and a half rather than two and a half, I would've given it a higher score. The characters are all likable, and the beginning angles and dialogue were promising.
Yet, as the "story" pressed on their simple minded motive, and repetitive chase scenes became humdrum. Even the spontaneous sing-along numbers became wearisome as some incorporated it into the story, while others played it off as a musical number.
I admire the ambition of this movie, but it's execution was sub-par.
