Review of The Blue Angel (1930) by Rhanda D — 07 Feb 2009
A beautifully made film with a surprisingly contemporary story, accessible and at the same time expressionisitic with clear, yet restrained, symbolism. This is not a film that moralizes; it just presents.
Marlene Dietrich is riveting in the type of powerful feminine role which was to soon vanish in Hollywood.
