Review of The Blue Angel (1930) by Joel A — 05 Apr 2010
When it comes to early German Cinema it can be real hit/miss to me. I thought Emil Jannings was good, but it was no doubt how Marlene Dietrich made her impact on the silver screen she was fantastic.
The film was ok, but the story of an important man's downfall could have been done so much better. It took 40-50 minutes to actually get going, and the sound and music quality of the film seem to grind against you after a while. A bit of a struggle to watch...
