Review of The Blob (1988) by Brian P — 29 Sep 2008

This Movie is one of the few remakes that is actually worth watching. Even though Movies such as "The Thing" are also among the extremely short list of good remakes, The Blob is underatted and doesn't get the praise that it deserves. In many ways the film has become dated but has also aged beautifully and is a definite must for all horror fanatics.

The only downfall with the movie is that the special affects start off very well and for it's time many of the scene's (Especially the death of Billy in the hospital) were chilling. But unfortunatley as the movie continues they start to become very laughable. But once your into the film you don't care how the special effects look on screen. You just enjoy the movie for what it is. Good, Cheap, B-movie fun.
