Review of The Blob (1988) by Andrew K — 14 Apr 2013
It takes about 25 minutes for things to get going and even when it does you have some of the worst acting in history to look forward too. The special effects are nice (for it's time I guess). The major problem is whenever the Blob isn't on screen there's literally nothing of interest going on onscreen.
It's all stuff we've seen done before only better. This is the kind of movie that tries to be a serious horror movie and then suggests that the blob traveled on a comet and killed off the dinosaurs.
I'm usually all for remakes, but this is one that just was not done well.
