Review of The Blob (1988) by The Critic ( — 17 Oct 2013
Chuck Russell's remake of the 1958 genré classic starring Steve McQueen pays tribute to its muse whilst still feeling fresh. Kevin Dillon is in fine form as the likable yet troubled protagonist who, alongside a Waspish Shawnee Smith, battles the mysterious titular creature that's devouring his small town.
With excellent special effects, great thrills and gore, 'The Blob' is a very entertaining, B-grade popcorn movie.
