I viewed this film when I was young. Though not yet reconstructed by that time, the film already has alot to offer: realistic story, effective and splendid casts, profound and moving scenes -- they are an assemblage of raison d'être--that makes the movie one of the best war movies of all times.
.and how much more when it was reconstructed...Samuel Fuller is a genious!
