Review of The Big Red One (1980) by Jeff D — 07 Jan 2012
It feels like Samuel Fuller's The Big Red One should be one of the great World War II films. Instead, we get a very choppy and incomplete film that is stained with the fingerprints of incompetent studio executives.
All of the elements are there, but the pieces are smashed together in an uncomfortable manner.
