Review of The Best Years of Our Lives (1946) by Bill C — 27 Sep 2010
The scope of this film is wide, which both adds to and detracts from the effect of the film. Massive in breadth, it shows the problems of three very different men as they adjust to the life after wartime.
The meaning is not lost because the theme is timeless; it may even be fair to say all post-war effect films are begotten from this one.
